The main difference is: The ClevaFoam Support mattress is made completely of ClevaFoam while the Pocket Sprung mattress is a hybrid of covered springs which increase breathability and airflow. Your baby’s mattress should be firm enough to give them the right support for their growing body. Babies should always be placed on their back to sleep and should not be able to ‘sink’ into a mattress as this can restrict their movement.

Please be assured that this is not a fault and is quite normal. During manufacturing, the quilted fabric is fastened to the springs at intervals, so where it is not fastened there may be a slight lifting of the fabric, but this will settle with use. Please be advised that this has no impact whatsoever on the mattress features or benefits. Our mattresses are fully tested and are certified safe.

Our mattresses are manufactured to fit standard cot (120 x 60cm) and cot bed (140 x 70cm) sizes and we recommend that parents measure their cot before purchasing a mattress. Experts recommend that there be no more than a 3cm gap between the cot and the mattress for safety.

ClevaFoam is completely safe for use with babies as it is very different to memory foam. Unlike memory foam, which is dense, ClevaFoam has an open cell structure which allows air to flow freely, making our mattresses breathable and safe. This open cell structure also helps to prevent overheating meaning your baby can sleep more comfortably.

To answer your question, ClevaFoam was tested against a standard infant mattress and was found to reduce pressure on babies’ heads by 50% in relation to the generic mattress.
